MOV : ശൌൽ ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെ ഓടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിട്ടു മടങ്ങിവന്നപ്പോൾ ദാവീദ് ഏൻ- ഗെദിമരുഭൂമിയിൽ ഉണ്ടെന്നു അവന്നു അറിവു കിട്ടി.
KJV : And it came to pass, when Saul was returned from following the Philistines, that it was told him, saying, Behold, David is in the wilderness of En-gedi.
YLT : And it cometh to pass when Saul hath turned back from after the Philistines, that they declare to him, saying, `Lo, David [is] in the wilderness of En-gedi.`
RV : And it came to pass, when Saul was returned from following the Philistines, that it was told him, saying, Behold, David is in the wilderness of En-gedi.
RSV : When Saul returned from following the Philistines, he was told, "Behold, David is in the wilderness of Engedi."

KJV : And he came to the sheepcotes by the way, where [was] a cave; and Saul went in to cover his feet: and David and his men remained in the sides of the cave.
YLT : and he cometh in unto folds of the flock, on the way, and there [is] a cave, and Saul goeth in to cover his feet; and David and his men in the sides of the cave are abiding.
RV : And he came to the sheepcotes by the way, where was a cave; and Saul went in to cover his feet. Now David and his men were abiding in the innermost parts of the cave.
RSV : And he came to the sheepfolds by the way, where there was a cave; and Saul went in to relieve himself. Now David and his men were sitting in the innermost parts of the cave.
ASV : And he came to the sheepcotes by the way, where was a cave; and Saul went in to cover his feet. Now David and his men were abiding in the innermost parts of the cave.
ESV : And he came to the sheepfolds by the way, where there was a cave, and Saul went in to relieve himself. Now David and his men were sitting in the innermost parts of the cave.
ERVEN : Saul came to some sheep pens beside the road. There was a cave near there, so Saul went in to relieve himself. David and his men were deep inside that same cave.

MOV : ദാവീദിന്റെ ആളുകൾ അവനോടു: ഞാൻ നിന്റെ ശത്രുവിനെ നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കും; നിനക്കു ബോധിച്ചതുപോലെ അവനോടു ചെയ്യാം എന്നു യഹോവ നിന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത ദിവസം ഇതാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോൾ ദാവീദ് എഴുന്നേറ്റു ശൌലിന്റെ മേലങ്കിയുടെ അറ്റം പതുക്കെ മുറിച്ചെടുത്തു.
KJV : And the men of David said unto him, Behold the day of which the LORD said unto thee, Behold, I will deliver thine enemy into thine hand, that thou mayest do to him as it shall seem good unto thee. Then David arose, and cut off the skirt of Saul’s robe privily.
YLT : And the men of David say unto him, `Lo, the day of which Jehovah said unto thee, Lo, I am giving thine enemy into thy hand, and thou hast done to him as it is good in thine eyes;` and David riseth and cutteth off the skirt of the upper robe which [is] on Saul -- gently.
RV : And the men of David said unto him, Behold, the day of which the LORD said unto thee, Behold, I will deliver thine enemy into thine hand, and thou shalt do to him as it shall seem good unto thee. Then David arose, and cut off the skirt of Saul-s robe privily.
RSV : And the men of David said to him, "Here is the day of which the LORD said to you, `Behold, I will give your enemy into your hand, and you shall do to him as it shall seem good to you.'" Then David arose and stealthily cut off the skirt of Saul's robe.
ASV : And the men of David said unto him, Behold, the day of which Jehovah said unto thee, Behold, I will deliver thine enemy into thy hand, and thou shalt do to him as it shall seem good unto thee. Then David arose, and cut off the skirt of Sauls robe privily.
ESV : And the men of David said to him, "Here is the day of which the LORD said to you, 'Behold, I will give your enemy into your hand, and you shall do to him as it shall seem good to you.'"Then David arose and stealthily cut off a corner of Saul's robe.
ERVEN : David's men told him, "This is day the Lord told you about when he said, 'I will give your enemy to you, and you can do whatever you want to him.'" So David crawled closer and closer to Saul and cut off a corner of Saul's robe. Saul didn't notice what happened.

MOV : ശൌലിന്റെ വസ്ത്രാഗ്രം മുറിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു പിന്നത്തേതിൽ ദാവീദിന്റെ മനസ്സാക്ഷി കുത്തിത്തുടങ്ങി.
KJV : And it came to pass afterward, that David’s heart smote him, because he had cut off Saul’s skirt.
YLT : And it cometh to pass afterwards that the heart of David smiteth him, because that he hath cut off the skirt which [is] on Saul,
RV : And it came to pass afterward, that David-s heart smote him because he had cut off Saul-s skirt.
RSV : And afterward David's heart smote him, because he had cut off Saul's skirt.
ASV : And it came to pass afterward, that Davids heart smote him, because he had cut off Sauls skirt.
ESV : And afterward David's heart struck him, because he had cut off a corner of Saul's robe.
ERVEN : Later, David felt bad about what he did.

MOV : അവൻ തന്റെ ആളുകളോടു: യഹോവയുടെ അഭിഷിക്തനായ എന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ നേരെ കയ്യെടുക്കുന്നതായ ഈ കാര്യം ചെയ്‍വാൻ യഹോവ എനിക്കു ഇടവരുത്തരുതേ; അവൻ യഹോവയുടെ അഭിഷിക്തനല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And he said unto his men, The LORD forbid that I should do this thing unto my master, the LORD’S anointed, to stretch forth mine hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the LORD.
YLT : and he saith to his men, `Far be it from me, by Jehovah; I do not do this thing to my lord -- to the anointed of Jehovah -- to put forth my hand against him, for the anointed of Jehovah he [is].`
RV : And he said unto his men, The LORD forbid that I should do this thing unto my lord, the LORD-S anointed, to put forth mine hand against him, seeing he is the LORD-S anointed.
RSV : He said to his men, "The LORD forbid that I should do this thing to my lord, the LORDS anointed, to put forth my hand against him, seeing he is the LORDS anointed."
ASV : And he said unto his men, Jehovah forbid that I should do this thing unto my lord, Jehovahs anointed, to put forth my hand against him, seeing he is Jehovahs anointed.
ESV : He said to his men, "The LORD forbid that I should do this thing to my lord, the LORD's anointed, to put out my hand against him, seeing he is the LORD's anointed."
ERVEN : He said to his men, "I pray the Lord never lets me do anything like that to my master again. I must not do anything against Saul, because he is the Lord's chosen king. "

MOV : ദാവീദും എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഗുഹയിൽനിന്നു പുറത്തിറങ്ങി ശൌലിനോടു: എന്റെ യജമാനനായ രാജാവേ എന്നു വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു. ശൌൽ തിരിഞ്ഞുനോക്കിയപ്പോൾ ദാവീദ് സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു നമസ്കരിച്ചു.
KJV : David also arose afterward, and went out of the cave, and cried after Saul, saying, My lord the king. And when Saul looked behind him, David stooped with his face to the earth, and bowed himself.
YLT : and David riseth afterwards, and goeth out from the cave, and calleth after Saul, saying, `My lord, O king!` And Saul looketh attentively behind him, and David boweth -- face to the earth -- and doth obeisance.

ERVEN : Later, David came out of the cave and called out to Saul, "My lord the king!" Saul looked back. David bowed with his face to the ground to show his respect.

MOV : ദാവീദ് ശൌലിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ: ദാവീദ് നിനക്കു ദോഷം വിചാരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറയുന്നവരുടെ വാക്കു നീ കേൾക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?
KJV : And David said to Saul, Wherefore hearest thou men’s words, saying, Behold, David seeketh thy hurt?
YLT : And David saith to Saul, `Why dost thou hear the words of man, saying, Lo, David is seeking thine evil?
RV : And David said to Saul, Wherefore hearkenest thou to men-s words, saying, Behold, David seeketh thy hurt?
RSV : And David said to Saul, "Why do you listen to the words of men who say, `Behold, David seeks your hurt'?

ERVEN : David said to Saul, "Why do you listen when people say, 'David plans to hurt you'?

MOV : യഹോവ ഇന്നു ഗുഹയിൽവെച്ചു നിന്നെ എന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചിരുന്നു എന്നു നിന്റെ കണ്ണാലെ കാണുന്നുവല്ലോ; നിന്നെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ ചിലർ പറഞ്ഞെങ്കിലും ഞാൻ ചെയ്തില്ല; എന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ നേരെ ഞാൻ കയ്യെടുക്കയില്ല; അവൻ യഹോവയുടെ അഭിഷിക്തനല്ലോ എന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : Behold, this day thine eyes have seen how that the LORD had delivered thee to day into mine hand in the cave: and [some] bade [me] kill thee: but [mine eye] spared thee; and I said, I will not put forth mine hand against my lord; for he [is] the LORD’S anointed.
YLT : Lo, this day have thine eyes seen how that Jehovah hath given thee to-day into my hand in the cave; and [one] said to slay thee, and [mine eye] hath pity on thee, and I say, I do not put forth my hand against my lord, for the anointed of Jehovah he [is].
RV : Behold, this day thine eyes have seen how that the LORD had delivered thee today into mine hand in the cave: and some bade me kill thee: but {cf15i mine eye} spared thee; and I said, I will not put forth mine hand against my lord; for he is the LORD-S anointed.
RSV : Lo, this day your eyes have seen how the LORD gave you today into my hand in the cave; and some bade me kill you, but I spared you. I said, `I will not put forth my hand against my lord; for he is the LORDS anointed.'
ASV : Behold, this day thine eyes have seen how that Jehovah had delivered thee to-day into my hand in the cave: and some bade me kill thee; but mine eye spared thee; and I said, I will not put forth my hand against my lord; for he is Jehovahs anointed.
ESV : Behold, this day your eyes have seen how the LORD gave you today into my hand in the cave. And some told me to kill you, but I spared you. I said, 'I will not put out my hand against my lord, for he is the LORD's anointed.'
ERVEN : You can see that with your own eyes that is not true. The Lord put you within my grasp today in the cave, but I refused to kill you. I was merciful to you. I said, 'I won't hurt my master. Saul is the Lord's chosen king.'

MOV : എന്റെ പിതാവേ, കാൺക, എന്റെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്റെ മേലങ്കിയുടെ അറ്റം ഇതാ കാൺക; നിന്റെ മേലങ്കിയുടെ അറ്റം ഞാൻ മുറിക്കയും നിന്നെ കൊല്ലാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്തതിനാൽ എന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ദോഷവും ദ്രോഹവും ഇല്ല; ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു പാപം ചെയ്തിട്ടുമില്ല എന്നു കണ്ടറിഞ്ഞുകൊൾക. നീയോ എനിക്കു പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തുവാൻ തേടിനടക്കുന്നു.
KJV : Moreover, my father, see, yea, see the skirt of thy robe in my hand: for in that I cut off the skirt of thy robe and killed thee not, know thou and see that [there is] neither evil nor transgression in mine hand, and I have not sinned against thee; yet thou huntest my soul to take it.
YLT : `And, my father, see, yea see the skirt of thine upper robe in my hand; for by cutting off the skirt of thy upper robe, and I have not slain thee, know and see that there is not in my hand evil and transgression, and I have not sinned against thee, and thou art hunting my soul to take it!
RV : Moreover, my father, see, yea, see the skirt of thy robe in my hand: for in that I cut off the skirt of thy robe, and killed thee not, know thou and see that there is neither evil nor transgression in mine hand, and I have not sinned against thee, though thou huntest after my soul to take it.
RSV : See, my father, see the skirt of your robe in my hand; for by the fact that I cut off the skirt of your robe, and did not kill you, you may know and see that there is no wrong or treason in my hands. I have not sinned against you, though you hunt my life to take it.
ASV : Moreover, my father, see, yea, see the skirt of thy robe in my hand; for in that I cut off the skirt of thy robe, and killed thee not, know thou and see that there is neither evil nor transgression in my hand, and I have not sinned against thee, though thou huntest after my life to take it.
ESV : See, my father, see the corner of your robe in my hand. For by the fact that I cut off the corner of your robe and did not kill you, you may know and see that there is no wrong or treason in my hands. I have not sinned against you, though you hunt my life to take it.
ERVEN : Look at this piece of cloth in my hand. I cut off the corner of your robe. I could have killed you, but I didn't. Now, I want you to understand this. I want you to know that I am not planning anything against you. I did nothing wrong to you, but you are hunting me and trying to kill me.

MOV : യഹോവ എനിക്കും നിനക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ ന്യായം വിധിക്കട്ടെ; യഹോവ എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി നിന്നോടു പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്യട്ടെ; എന്നാൽ എന്റെ കൈ നിന്റെമേൽ വീഴുകയില്ല.
KJV : The LORD judge between me and thee, and the LORD avenge me of thee: but mine hand shall not be upon thee.
YLT : `Jehovah doth judge between me and thee, and Jehovah hath avenged me of thee, and my hand is not on thee;
RV : The LORD judge between me and thee, and the LORD avenge me of thee: but mine hand shall not be upon thee.
RSV : May the LORD judge between me and you, may the LORD avenge me upon you; but my hand shall not be against you.

ERVEN : Let the Lord be the judge. He might punish you for the wrong you did to me, but I won't fight you myself.

MOV : ദുഷ്ടത ദുഷ്ടനിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുന്നു എന്നല്ലോ പഴഞ്ചൊൽ പറയുന്നതു; എന്നാൽ എന്റെ കൈ നിന്റെമേൽ വീഴുകയില്ല.
KJV : As saith the proverb of the ancients, Wickedness proceedeth from the wicked: but mine hand shall not be upon thee.
YLT : as saith the simile of the ancients, From the wicked goeth out wickedness, and my hand is not on thee.

ERVEN : There is an old saying: 'Bad things come from bad people.' "I haven't done anything bad, and I won't hurt you.

MOV : ആരെ തേടിയാകുന്നു യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു പുറപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതു? ആരെയാകുന്നു പിന്തുടരുന്നതു? ഒരു ചത്തനായെ, ഒരു ചെള്ളിനെ അല്ലയോ?
KJV : After whom is the king of Israel come out? after whom dost thou pursue? after a dead dog, after a flea.
YLT : `After whom hath the king of Israel come out? after whom art thou pursuing? -- after a dead dog! after one flea!

MOV : ആകയാൽ യഹോവ ന്യായാധിപനായി എനിക്കും നിനക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ ന്യായം വിധിക്കയും എന്റെ കാര്യം നോക്കി വ്യവഹരിച്ചു എന്നെ നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്നു വിടുവിക്കയും ചെയ്യുമാറാകട്ടെ.
KJV : The LORD therefore be judge, and judge between me and thee, and see, and plead my cause, and deliver me out of thine hand.
YLT : And Jehovah hath been for judge, and hath judged between me and thee, yea, he seeth and pleadeth my cause, and doth deliver me out of thy hand.`
RV : The LORD therefore be judge, and give sentence between me and thee, and see, and plead my cause, and deliver me out of thine hand.
RSV : May the LORD therefore be judge, and give sentence between me and you, and see to it, and plead my cause, and deliver me from your hand."
ASV : Jehovah therefore be judge, and give sentence between me and thee, and see, and plead my cause, and deliver me out of thy hand.
ESV : May the LORD therefore be judge and give sentence between me and you, and see to it and plead my cause and deliver me from your hand."
ERVEN : Let the Lord be the judge. Let him decide between you and me. He will support me and show that I amright. He will save me from you."

MOV : ദാവീദ് ശൌലിനോടു ഈ വാക്കുകൾ സംസാരിച്ചു തീർന്നശേഷം ശൌൽ: എന്റെ മകനേ, ദാവീദേ, ഇതു നിന്റെ ശബ്ദമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു പൊട്ടിക്കരഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And it came to pass, when David had made an end of speaking these words unto Saul, that Saul said, [Is] this thy voice, my son David? And Saul lifted up his voice, and wept.
YLT : And it cometh to pass, when David completeth to speak these words unto Saul, that Saul saith, `Is this thy voice, my son David?` and Saul lifteth up his voice, and weepeth.
RV : And it came to pass, when David had made an end of speaking these words unto Saul, that Saul said, Is this thy voice, my son David? And Saul lifted up his voice, and wept.
RSV : When David had finished speaking these words to Saul, Saul said, "Is this your voice, my son David?" And Saul lifted up his voice and wept.
ASV : And it came to pass, when David had made an end of speaking these words unto Saul, that Saul said, Is this thy voice, my son David? And Saul lifted up his voice, and wept.
ESV : As soon as David had finished speaking these words to Saul, Saul said, "Is this your voice, my son David?" And Saul lifted up his voice and wept.
ERVEN : When David finished speaking, Saul asked, "Is that your voice, David my son?" Then Saul lifted his voice and began to cry.

MOV : പിന്നെ അവൻ ദാവീദിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: നീ എന്നെക്കാൾ നീതിമാൻ; ഞാൻ നിനക്കു തിന്മചെയ്തതിന്നു നീ എനിക്കു നന്മ പകരം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
KJV : And he said to David, Thou [art] more righteous than I: for thou hast rewarded me good, whereas I have rewarded thee evil.
YLT : And he saith unto David, `More righteous thou [art] than I; for thou hast done me good, and I have done thee evil;
RV : And he said to David, Thou art more righteous than I: for thou hast rendered unto me good, whereas I have rendered unto thee evil.
RSV : He said to David, "You are more righteous than I; for you have repaid me good, whereas I have repaid you evil.
ASV : And he said to David, Thou art more righteous than I; for thou hast rendered unto me good, whereas I have rendered unto thee evil.
ESV : He said to David, "You are more righteous than I, for you have repaid me good, whereas I have repaid you evil.
ERVEN : He said, "You are right, and I am wrong. You were good to me, even though I have been bad to you.

MOV : യഹോവ എന്നെ നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചാറെയും നീ എന്നെ കൊല്ലാതെ വിട്ടതിനാൽ നീ എനിക്കു ഗുണം ചെയ്തതായി ഇന്നു കാണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
